Success Story

Singhia is a remote village in Kishanganj block. Singhia is a remote village in Kishanganj block. More than 70 girls of the village do not go to school due to various factors. Most of them belong to the minority community where education for girls does not hold any importance. They are either send to the Madarasa for religious education or kept at home. Many girls of the village are married at an early age.

Azad India did a survey in the village. Our workers carried out meetings with the parents of the girls and convinced them to send these girls to our NFE centres. Most of them agreed as we promised to appoint lady teacher for them. We also gave free books and stationary items.

The NFE centre is running 6 days a week from 9am to 12 pm successfully in the village since January 2010. All the enrolled girls come regularly to the centre. They have learned many new things .They love to draw and paint.
