Success Story

There are many talentd and intelligent children who lack opportunities There are many talentd and intelligent children who lack opportunities, especially if they are studying in Govt schools and from socio-economically backward families. Their only source of information is TV , which is again sparingly used to watch informative programmes.

We have weekly clubs on Saturdays in our study centres . On Saturday regular educational programmes are not conducted , insead we arrange sessions on environmental awareness such as the need for tree plantation, saving natural resources, etc. We also encourage children to participate in debates and to prepare projects on these issues. The sessions are conducted by experts or our Social Workers.

Last year, some of our children participated in a general knowledge competition . One child even won a project competition held by a popular news paper in Pune. These children of the club actively participate in the developmental activities IDEA conduct in their slum communities.
