Success Story

5 year old Vaishnavi lost her father an year ago 5 year old Vaishnavi lost her father an year ago. Her mother works as a part time maid servant to look after her two children. Vaishnavi has an elder brother, Bhushan in grade 4. The family has no support from their relatives, and was thinking of admitting one of the children in a Govt destitute home as she cannot afford to take care of the needs of two children.

Her mother approached our social worker for guidance.She wanted to work as a full time servant to repay a heavy debt taken for the treatment of her husband and wanted to put the children in an orphanage. The Social worker explained the importance of family care and suggested alternative support in the form of sponsorship.We have enrolled both the children under the sponsorship programme.

The sponsorship aid saved the family during the crisis.The mother was encouraged to be a member of a SHG. Apart from a small monthly saving, she is repaying the loan too as most of the educational needs of the children are taken care of through the sponsorship programme. The mother is thankful to the Social worker for guiding and supporting her to take a right decision.
