Success Story

Rita Devi is 34 years old widow belonging to below poverty line. Rita Devi is 34 years old widow belonging to below poverty line. She is residing in village Barai, Islampur, Nalanda with her four children. She was working as maid servant in other houses for her livelihood. She was not able to meet the requirements of her and family members from her meager income.

She contacted Sugam Jagriti workers and expressed her willingness to undergo training in cutting and tailoring being conducted by them. Her request was materialized by Sugam Jagriti and she was allowed to undertake 4 months duration training in cutting and tailoring at her own convenient time.

On successful training she managed one second hand sewing machine and started visiting her own villages and adjacent villages for taking orders for stitching. Encouraged with the income from the sewing job she is now taken this as full time occupation. Now she is earning Rs. 2000-2500 per month. Her income level has improved. She has admitted her two of the younger children to school. She is now able to feed her children properly and adequately.
