Success Story

Milli a fair, beautiful women was admitted to Calcutta Mental Hospital at the age of 44 by her husband. Occasionally he visited her. She remained in the hospital for 8 years as the husband refused to take her back. While Milli was kept in the hospital he married again and a son was born to him.

Paripurnata brought her out of the hospital for rehabilitation when she was 52. She looked haggard and old, but with Paripurnata's total therapy, she blossomed. Paripurnata contacted her husband, but he refused to take her back though he acknowledged that Milli had improved. At Paripurnata Human Rights are also taught, which helped Milli to claim some help from her husband.

Milli?s husband agreed to pay the rent for her room and give Rs.300/ for her food. She works as a domestic helper in two homes and earns about Rs.150-200 every month. The value orientated and humane programmes which Paripurnata imparts, has certainly helped the women to stand for their rights and to extend goodness to others even through they themselves been traumatised and rejected.
