Success Story

KRDSO is working with 400 Children Living with HIV/AIDS and 500 Children Affected by HIV/AIDS in West Godavari District. KRDSO is working with 400 Children Living with HIV/AIDS and 500 Children Affected by HIV/AIDS in West Godavari District. Many of the mothers are widows at their young age between 25 to 35 years and not able to work due their poor health condition. Among these, most of the women are not in a position to feed themselves and as well as their children. In most cases, both parents have passed away due to HIV/AIDS and left their children as orphans. These children have no proper care being taken by their grand parents or nearest relatives. Chukka Ashok was born at home due to which his HIV positive status was not discovered at birth. His mother, a daily wage worker, is HIV positive and his father, a rickshaw puller, negative.

KRDSO learnt of this case and registered both as PLHA. Our outreach workers counselled the family and provided them with nutritional support and toiletries. Ashok, in Grade 3, was given assistance to continue his education.
