Ravi Kumar Jain had been in the grip of cancer since 1995, when a swelling in his right thigh was diagnosed as a rare form of nerve cancer. This then spread to his jaw and abdomen, despite multiple heroic surgeries, chemotherapy cycles and radiotherapy fractions. Eventually when no further curative options were left, drastic measures like the amputation of the right leg were suggested by the onco-surgeons. This was vehemently rejected by the patient, so he was referred to the Pain & Palliative Care Clinic and finally to CanSupport for management of pain and other symptoms.
