Success Story

There are no good libraries suitable for children in the villages There are no good libraries suitable for children in the villages. The Govt. libraries keep books suitable for elder people who are at High school or College level

We introduced libraries in the villages with about 250 Tamil and 50 English books for children of age group 6 to 17 years. We provided good, simple story books with colorful pictures and printed in bold letters. Children enjoy them. Any child after registering as a member can borrow a book / books to take home and return within one week. There is no fee charged for the borrowing.

Since we introduced a reward system to the first 3 children who borrowed the maximum number of books in the year, reading habit has picked up among the village children. We reward the winners with a set of good books only
