Success Story

Weavers ST colony is located close to Bay of Bengal. Weavers ST colony is located close to Bay of Bengal. All the families belong to weavers community and they depend on master weaver for the raw material for weaving. There are also 67 weavers who belong to Backward Caste near to the last street. Villagers who are living at the end of the village have another possibility of getting water from B.C. colony but they do not allow these people to take water from their bore well as ST are lower caste. There are two bore wells in the village and one is installed by Panchayat and another one by Mandal Parishad. Both the bore wells are installed in the first street. Nevertheless, the drinking water problem is for the villagers who live at the end of the village i.e. for ST colony people. These ST (Scheduled Tribe) people are very much suffering for fetching the water from long distance.

Due to severe problem, villagers approached ASSIST for a new bore well. Understanding the situation, ASSIST sanctioned to dig a bore well in a suitable place with the support received from Mr. Vidya Mahambare through Give India. This new bore well is provided near the house of Nakka Pothu Raj, so that bore well water can be utilized by 25 families not only for drinking but also for domestic use.

After proving a bore well near the house of Nakka Pothu Raj, villagers are happy as their major problem is solved quickly. So villagers express their happiness and thanks to Mr. Vidya Mahambare and GIVE INDIA for solving the problem through ASSIST.
