Success Story

Kapadia, residing at Sanman Park, Bhom Talavadi, Nadiad and working at the local vegetable market needed a used bike.

Sameer Habibbhai Kapadia, residing at Sanman Park, Bhom Talavadi, Nadiad and working at the local vegetable market needed a used bike. This was all he could afford to buy, given the responsibilities of two sisters and a growing up brother. He did not trust the brokers, nor could he afford their commission.

Our CARAVAN Multipurpose Empowerment Centres have put up a small number of such boards in their vicinity with local donations. They have been promoted in a low key manner through pamphlets. The local media has also covered some. Hence they are beginning to gain popularity.
Someone similarly led Sameer to the local CARAVAN Board at Mohammadi Society and he wrote out his need on the Board in mid October 2009. Within three days some people contacted him with offers. Amongst them was a person called Ramizbhai, living not far from his house. The deal was struck and today Sameer is a satisfied owner of a functional bike. He says his bike helps him sell more vegetables!
