Success Story

Anusha (name changed) is 10 years old and her father died of AIDS. Anusha (name changed) is 10 years old and her father died of AIDS, while both she and her mother are HIV positive. Her mother could not work. Being very poor, and because of the stigma, her mother did not want Anusha to attend school. Despite Anushas desire for an education and to play with other girls, she was stopped because of the fear that she would be discriminated. So Anusha had to stay at home.

Having come to know about the plight of the family and Ansuhas desire for schooling and playing, HELP volunteers motivated her mother and admitted her into a private school located in the nearby locality. She was provided with uniform and books. She was also given some play equipment like tennikoit, skipping ropes, carrom board etc., and other girls of the community invite her to play with them with the material she has.

The girl now regularly attends school. She has many friends as she has play material. Now she no longer feels lonely. As a result of ART provided by HELP for the girl, she is cheerful and is optimistic about her future.
