Success Story

Rekha was a visually challenged orphan girl Rekha, a visually challenged orphan girl, was residing in a temporary accommodation facility in Mumbai. In 2007, she was asked to vacate the facility. Devoid of any form of personal or financial support, she struggled for food and survival. She was visibly weak, destitute and vulnerable when Sahaara staff met her.

Sahaara staff invited her to join Jyoti Centre, our rehabilitation home. Rekha now enjoys nutritious food every day: three well balanced meals, seasonal fruits, protein rich foods and beverages.

Perhaps for the first time in her life, she is enjoying good health and wholeness. She enjoys good health and access to medical help. Filled with hope, she boldly looks forward to brighter tomorrows! Rekha, an orphan, worked as an itinerant railway vendor. She is currently enrolled in a massage training course.
