50% of the children are chronically starved in this region. 50% of the children are chronically starved in this region. Parents work as agricultural labourers and migrate every season to other states. They try to cultivate their tiny plots of land during the non season time.

The community provided a room to start a balwadi. Local women volunteered to become balwadi teachers. SEEDA also arranged for a paediatrician to check the children and we provided medicines and high protein food.

The community monitors the balwadi. This has helped develop cognitive, social and physical abilities of the children. Parents are educated on how to look after their children.
