Success Story

Obulapuram Thanda is one of the habitations of the tribal people. Obulapuram Thanda is one of the habitations of the tribal people. The habitants have been suffering from viral fevers and common diseases like cold, cough, arthritis, etc. Due to open defecation and lack of sanitation facilities, the hygiene situation is worst in the village. There are no safe drinking water facilities in the village. People donot have proper nutritious food. The medical facilities are not accessible to them

We have organised health camp on 2nd October 2008 at Obulapuram Thanda. 110 tribal people attended the health camp. The resource persons and doctors sensitized on health issues and motivated the participants to follow good health practices. They explained personal hygiene, sanitation and environmental cleanliness. The doctors examined the patients and the paramedical staff diagnosed the patients. Then medicine was distributed as per the prescription of the doctors. Some serious cases were referred to Govt. General Hospital.

The habitants of Obulapuram Thanda understood the importance of health and habituated good health practices. They consult the qualified doctors instead of following traditional healing practices. They are motivated to maintain personal hygiene like daily bath and changing of washed clothes
