Success Story

Being a Deafblind child, 9 years old Santosh could neither see nor hear anything. He could not express himself and was completely dependent on others for his day to day needs. Being a Deafblind child, 9 years old Santosh could neither see nor hear anything. He could not express himself and was completely dependent on others for his day to day needs. Such communication barriers forced Santosh to live an isolated life. But then he was identified by a field worker of Sense International (India).

The field worker provided him with need-based guidance and support and identified his needs and trained Santosh in skills necessary for him to carry out his day-to-day tasks with ease. Santosh slowly started responding to the training.

Today, Santosh is a more confident boy. He has picked up daily living skills, mobility and communication skills very well. Earlier he was completely dependent on others but now he is learning to be self dependent. His parents and teachers are happy with his progress and are confident that given proper training he will live an active life in the society.
