Success Story

KRDSO main focus is HIV/AIDS in West Godavari District. KRDSO main focus is HIV/AIDS in West Godavari District. We have identified 121 members in our working areas. These are very ill people and cannot do hard labour. Their children drop out of school and go to work to support the family. Our staff reported this problem to KRDSO. KRDSO provides training to positive women within the villages itself. Each batch contains 20-25 members. Class starts at 10:00 AM and end at 12:30 PM. We mix both positive and non-positive women in the batch in order to avoid discrimination and stigma among them.

We have been providing Nutritional, psycho social support care to these families since 3 years. And we are providing educational support to their children.

Now trained PLHAs are starting their own work. The increase in their income has lead to better nutrition and increase in cd4 count which has led to an improvement in their health. Their children are going to school and have stopped migrating in search of work.
