Success Story

He was born in a poor family with hereditary blindness. He was born in a poor family with hereditary blindness. He had only light perception. He studied upto the 4th standard in a municipal school. His parents desire to shift him to a special school did not materialise, hence he was left to the confines of his home

He was guided to the NAB by his friend and in September 1993 he joined the batch no. 60 as a trainee in basic rehabilitation course. Thereafter he pursued the Vocational Trade Course and made living by selling products on the footpath. In the year 1995 he successfully completed his SSC with 61% marks after being motivated and counselled by Manju Mulchandani and Nitin Mulay . He joined Kirti College for further education and completed professsional course in physiotherapy from NAB – DOR and obtained a certificate from DOR – Government of Maharashtra. On completion , he practiced physiotherapy at leading hospitals like Motiben Dalvi , Elizabeth Nursing Home and also started attending patients indepedentely.

Sanjay is on the faculty of NAB DOR since last 5 yrs for acupressure course. He is a practicing physiotherapy at MBA (Matured Beneficiary Activity ) foundation since last 3 yrs and attends to patients privately for a variety of ailments. He wants to make an identity of himself in the field of physiotherapy and social welfare. He actively supports agencies involved in eye donation. He is a life member of many blind organizations like NSCB , NFB , BPA and IAVIP.
