Success Story

Families where parents are sick have low souce of income. In families where parents have limited resources due to their own sickness or otherwise due to hardships of life, the survival needs take the front seat .Parents have to struggle every day to put the bread on the plate of child. Thus her/his recreational needs are not met. The frustrations of parents and struggle with their own sickness also make it difficult for them to celebrate festivals or plan for any family outings. Many a time children feel the pinch and miss out the recreation and outings that other children get. It also limits their exposure to the world.

Child Survival India realized that every child has a right to a healthy and a happy childhood and meeting child s recreational needs is as important as meeting physical, educational and medical needs of children. Thus Child Survival India organized a day long outing to Zoo & Childrens park for children of its learning centers. For almost all children, It was the first time that they were visiting Zoo .Even for 10-12 yr olds it was the first time that they saw a hippo, a lion, a deer

All the children were very excited and were jumping with joy. They were so happy that they forgot anything about food or drinks. Then the children were taken to Children s park where they could have joy rides on swings, slides and see saws of varied kinds. The children were also treated to an enjoyable treat of cool drink, poori sabzi, wafers, sweets, apples & bananas. All the children came back very happy and their parents were also glad to see the wide smiles on their faces. Children could not stop talking about the entire experience of bus ride through the city, enjoying and running around freely in open spaces, treat of cool drink, sweets etc. and fun of being together.
