Success Story

Rukhsar is the eldest child in a large family

Rukhsar is the eldest child in a large family. She has 4 siblings-two sisters and two brothers. Her father is an auto driver while her mother is a home maker. She is studying in grade IX but she always wanted to be self reliant & contribute to her family resources. With this in view she enrolled for Child survival India stitching course.

Rukhsar took 6 months training in tailoring & cutting. Since she had the aptitude in stitching, her hand was very neat & all her neighbors were really impressed by her work. They started coaxing her to stitch clothes for them. Due to her family conditions her father could not buy her a sewing machine. Child survival social workers helped her in this need.
Rukhsar is now stitching clothes for her neighbors. Infact, she is good in her designing that most of the young girls of her peer group want her to stitch their clothes. Rukhsar is able to earn about Rs. 700-800 per month out which she keeps 200 for her pocket money and gives the rest to her mother to manage the family needs
