Success Story

Pinky 11yrs old girl lives in Vasantkunj, New Delhi. Her father is a carpenter and mother is a house maid. Pinky 11yrs old girl lives in Vasantkunj, New Delhi. Her father is a carpenter and mother is a house maid. She has three brothers and one sister. Her parents migrated to Delhi in search of livilihood opprtunity from Bihar. Her parents leave their home ealry in the morning for their work and come late night. Therefore all the responsibilities were taken by Pinky and her sister Anju. Her parents were not interested to send her in the school and even Pinky was also not interested. Pinky was also involved in rag picking where she had acute skin problems and head full of lice.

We approached Pinky and her family. She was coaxed to join Sshrishti learning centre. She would run away from the centre very often but we persevered and would convince her get back to her classes. The teachers were instructed to be patient with her and to encourage her constantly. Efforts made, could gradually discipline her. She was also offered treatment for her scabies and lice.

After three years with Sshrishti, Pinky is now in class 4th, attending school regularly, taking part in extra curricular activities and is proficient in basic computer applications. She is making steady progress in her standards of academic achievement. Today she is free of scabies and her general health is better because of the meal and regular vitamin supplements that she gets daily.
