Success Story

Guard Society conducted a Social exclusion project in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Voluntary Health Association. Guard Society conducted a Social exclusion project in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Voluntary Health Association at Uthumalai village Alankulam block of Tirunelveli district. We came across alienated people like widows, destitutes, Dalits, old age people, Physically challenged,, HIV positive persons etc.. Among them the worst vulnerable sections is HIV affected persons namely Vijaya, Azhagusundari, and Mariammal. They were in pathetic condition without being looked after by anyone.

Guard Society in association with the social exclusion project offered help to the HIV affected persons named Vijaya and Azhagusundari by way of giving nutritious food materials package. When Mariuammal contacted us we could help with food materials with the help of local donors within our reach. While delivering a food package we arranged the counselors who gave personal advices to the affected persons. We also made them tie-up with the local Government Hospital for further medical treatment. We provided food materials consecutively for three months.

Guard Society food package, our counselor advice and the medical treatment by experts made the HIV affected persons get a positive attitude. At present they do some work and stand independently. They maximum managed to overcome the inferiority complex, depression and pessimistic thoughts. They are confident and hopeful of doing any work assigned to them. They have become role models for other HIV affected patients.
