A very poor woman named Gita has been living in a small interior tribal village Vasi of North Gujarat A very poor woman named Gita has been living in a small interior tribal village Vasi of North Gujarat. She was so poor that she could not go to maternity home for delivery. She had given birth to two children at home by local nurse (DAYAN). These two children died after birth. The third time she became pregnant she was worried about the un born child.

LSVT learnt that Gita had faced serious problems because of lack of knowledge and carelessness of local nurses. LSVT also knew that a few women had lost their lives for the same reason. LSVT provided these mothers knowledge for safe delivery and birth control tips and funded Gita to have a safe and secure delivery at maternity home on December 2009.

Gita feels happy and satisfied with her third healthy child. She inspires other pregnant women to go to maternity homes for safe deliveries.
