Success Story

Most of the patients come to to our hospital are either tribal people or agricultural labours. Most of the patients come to to our hospital are either tribal people or agricultural labours. They are extremely poor and do not have access to fresh and nutritious food. Hence, when got admitted for treatment, bringing food from home for them is very expensive. Moreover, many of them are daily wagers, and so during their stay in hospital they loose their earning, which makes even more difficult for them to get nutritious food

The organisation felt that is was necessary to provide food to patients and their relatives, when they stay for treatment. In the process, Ma Annapurna Bhojanalay (Community Kitchen) was started in April 1997. The patients of general wards and their one attendants are provided food and milk free of cost twice a day, while the patients and attendants of special rooms are charged Rs 20 per dish. On May 13, 2009, with the generous support of a donor, the nutritious meal was provided to around 60 poor patients admitted in the hospital and their 60 attendants.

By providing food at the hospital, we have been able to save money and time of poor patients. And above all, they get fresh & nutritious food, which helps them to recover from their illness. It has reduced one of the big worries of patients staying at the hospital, along with leaving a smile on their faces and their loved ones. Most of the times, the balanced and nutritious diet given through such support become a key for the patients for early and better recovery
