Success Story

Nirosha is a 100 % disabled female, aged 21 years. Nirosha is a 100 % disabled female, aged 21 years. She lives in the gold mining town of Kolar Gold Fields. She is deformed and bed-ridden. She can speak and understand but other than that she is a total vegetable without any kind of education or training in any discipline. Her growth is stunted (overall length is three feet) and has to be carried around. Although an adult she has the shape and body of a six year child. She needed medication for various ailments and needed to exercise her muscles as she seldom used them to walk or do any activity.

Her parents spend more than a thousand rupees every month for her medicines. Many times they could not purchase medicines due to shortage of money. In order to help this family in a very small way we introduced reimbursement of her medical expenses limited to Rs. 500 per month. This ensured that atleast vital medicines required for her healthcare were purchased every month and administered.

Due to our efforts we have now been able to help Nirosha to get most needed medicines regularly. This has resulted in her overall good health. She is happier than before and it is a big help to her parents. We are also assisting her by organsing her visits to the nearby hospital in case she is in need of medical aid for any ailment. This was a long felt need of the family and we are happy we were able to start off with this kind of help in a small way. We hope to increase the quantum of help depending upon the support we hope to receive in the future.
