She used to spend huge sums of money on expensive chemical fertilizers and pesticides as she did not know about vermicompost and its utility in agriculture.

Sampark imparted Huligamma training in vermiculture, and also helped her get worms and start her own vermicompost heap.

She was able to make vermicompost, help other women to start the same activity, and even supply worms to others. The usage of vermicompost saves on the cost of chemical fertilisers and works towards a sustainable, eco-friendly, agricultural practice.
