Success Story

Rani is a coolie with a husband who was a drunkard. Rani is a coolie with a husband who was a drunkard. He never took care of their 3 children. One day when she was cooking their one time meal for the day, he asked for money. When she said she didn t have a penny, he got angry and threw the half cooked rice on the floor. Rani got wild and hit him with a stone. He was killed and she was life sentenced. She is secluded from the co-dwellers. She was devastated.

New Life selected Rani for tailoring training. She was trained to stitch blouses, skirts, shirts, etc. The training was conducted for 6 months. Our trainers conducted motivation classes also. She was much interested in tailoring and started talking with others. Slowly she recovered from her trauma, thanks to the additional efforts of our counselor.

Rani was released two years ago and has her own small tailoring shop and earns stitching blouses and skirts for women. She supports her children who are grown up now, as she has acquired the skill and confidence from the training and motivation classes conducted by New Life. She says that she is very happy as she is independent now.
