Overview

The number of inmates is increasing very fast in `Apna Ghar' . The aim of the organisation is to provide rehabilitation services to needy persons, so that no such inmates may be refused admission due to non-availability of residential and other required facilities. The Apna Ghar residential Ashrams have been established in Ajmer, Kota, Alwar District of Rajasthan and in Delhi the national capital of India and this process of expansion is still going on.

The Basics

It is necessary to develop the residential facility and arrange food, medicine, clothes and other requirements of life for the needy people, so that no such inmates can be refused admission due to non-availability of residential Homes and other required facilities. They plan to expand this service not only for one state but also throughout the nation. Hence, they have established Apna Ghar residential Ashrams in various places across India.

How It Works

• GiveIndia donations will be used for Apna Ghar Ashram Bharatpur beneficiaries who are disabled.
• The organisation is providing services to helpless persons who are generally found on railway platforms, bus stands, road side etc and are in very harsh and painful conditions.
• These people belong to different categories like mentally retarded, physically handicapped, paralysed, leprosy affected, cancer affected, blind, aged, etc.
• These people in most cases are neglected by their own families due to mental and physical sickness and generally they are not in a position to state their home address or even their names.
• In many cases, they have been named by the organisation, and after recovery they are in a position to state their address.
• Finally, the process to send them back home is initiated by the organisation.

Nourishing meals thrice a day
Found in the Bari market, Omwati was a malnourished destitute old woman, who could neither walk nor talk properly.
Thanks to the efforts made by Bari Sewa Samiti, Omwati was brought to Apna Ghar Ashram, where all her basic needs like food, medicine and accommodation are provided for by the organization, at no cost at all.
Thanks to timely care, medication, and a healthy diet, Omwati has now recovered. She now also uses her time to help others like her.
