Kapasi stays with her husband and one married son at Vikahar village. Her husband and her son are both agricultural day labourers and their combined income was Rs. 2000/- per month. The area where they live is mono-cropped. During the lean months the agricultural day labourers have to migrate to other parts of West Bengal or even outside West Bengal in search of employment opportunities. This migration tells upon the family cohesion and also creates problems of pecuniary adjustment.
