Success Story

There was gender violence, male dominance and economic suppression of backward and dalitt women in Sanmainsadi village of Baliapal Block. There was gender violence, male dominance and economic suppression of backward and dalitt women in Sanmainsadi village of Baliapal Block.. They were not able to participate in the decision making process for a healthy family and community life .Their exposure and leadership were deliberately sidelined.

In the Sanmainsadi village 8 women Self Help Groups were organized .Their unity ,rights and leadership requirements were made aware to them through orientation & leadership development training. Regular orientation and timely leadership village meetings were conducted .Their needs and opportunities were identified by them in our facilitation .Credit and savings were made compulsory for each member.

The already organized SHGs were strengthened and provided with leadership and rights based training cum orientation. They have been vocal to express their deficiencies and put forth before the appropriate authorities. Regular credit and savings have improved their micro enterprise adoption resulting in economic well being. The male dominance and social torture have reduced to the minimum.
