Success Story

Dalayalnadandhankulam is a remote dalit village. Dalayalnadandhankulam is a remote dalit village. The villagers are very poor. They are backward in every walk of life. All the adults are illiterate. There is a primary school. Children go to this school but soon get dropped saying they are not capable of studying. The parents accept it. The teachers are so enthusiastic. They do not persuade and educate the children. The parents believe in fatalism. After finishing primary school, the children do not want to go to high school in far places. Thus this village is limited with primary education.

When Rosary Trust did a survey to find why the educational level of the village is so poor we realized that the children needed motivation and good teachers who would encourage learning. The trust started a evening tuition center. The children were often given sweets. All children came to study

The teacher motivated and helped the children study well. The children realized that they could study well and enjoy learning. They say that they could now read and write English very well. Many of them are going to high school away in other town. Parents say that they will educate their children for a better life.
