The Government issued Tree pattas to tribal and dalit communities The Government issued Tree pattas to tribal and dalit communities of 200 Acres of forest land in Katrenipadu village forest block area in 1983.The landlords occupied half of the forest (6000 acres) including the tribal allotment. The tribal villagers reported the matter to the elders of the village and revenue authorities for justice but nobody helped them

At this stage LEADS came to know about the situation and conducted several meetings and legal awareness camps and explained them about their rights and the Forest Rights Act. We distributed the pamphlets of the legal rights in Telugu and motivated them.

Now many victims have filed petitions and complaints and appeared before the legal authorities. Some of them got back the said lands and planning to form the Vana Samrakshana Samithies(VSS)with the support of the Forest Department and some of them seeking for justice, before the authorities. Now they are able to stand on their own.
