Success Story

Sumit Gupta is a boy with multiple disabilities. Sumit Gupta is a boy with multiple disabilities. All his developmental milestones were delayed. Since his lower limbs were underdeveloped, he was unable to move from one place to another without help. His parents had not encouraged academic pursuits for him because of his disabilities.

Sumit was admitted in our Special Education program (Pre Vocational) and was also placed on extensive physiotherapy. With tremendous efforts of the multi-disciplinary team of Special Educators and Therapists, his academic abilities in reading and writing and in arithmetic developed remarkably, to qualify for special coaching program for Grade-V level National Open Schooling Examination.

He cleared Grade 5 National Examination in 2008. With improvement in his physical abilities he can now independently move around with a rollator. His skills in speech and performing arts won him laurels in cultural events. Being 18 now he has moved to Vocational Unit in April-10. He has been encouraged to run a small sale counter at our Centre, as a prelude to join the retail business of his father.
