Kamala is safe, happy and getting an education
Kamala was found by a police officer when she was begging on the roads of Bangalore. She came to our home in 2010 as a five-year-old. Kamala’s feet and palm were turned inwards, and hence she was not able to walk. All that she could do was to crawl. As an orphan, getting any medical care or therapy for her disability was remote and had an extremely limited outlook for her future.
We provided corrective surgery through the Manipal Hospital and soon Kamala was able to walk with callipers and a walker. Kamal’s feet and palms were also turned to the correct position. With this support, Kamala began schooling at Seventh Day Adventist School on Old Airport Road, Bangalore.
