Shailaja hails from the village of Kotakere, Gundlupet Taluk. Shailaja hails from the village of Kotakere, Gundlupet Taluk. She is from a poor agricultural background. Although she has managed to complete her Pre-University as well as TCH (Teachers Training), she has not found a placement anywhere.

IHDUA trained her in the art of tailoring, a course she attended successfully for six months. Now, with the help of Give Foundation, we were able to provide her with a tailoring machine.

Kotakere did not have even one sewing machine. With the skills she picked up with IHDUA, Shailaja now has an order for over Rs.400/- per month and with time and support from IHDUA and Give foundation, she will be able to sustain her family and obtain more orders from the local villagers.
