Divya’s mother expired when she was barely one and she now lives with her maternal uncle and aunt. Muktangan believes in a teacher student ratio of 1:15 where the teacher gives motherly care and love required by the children. The circle time methodology is used to enable children to interact without inhibition and to build confidence. Divya and all the other children are given nutritious food on a daily basis.

Divya gradually adapted to the environment, has developed great confidence and is passionate about circle time games through which values are constructed. She recently expressed her desire to become a Muktangan teacher. When queried why she wanted to be a Muktangan teacher she replied,” I have been loved by everyone at Muktangan. I was afraid to speak in English but the teachers helped me learn the language and taught me how to enjoy what I was learning. I wish Muktangan is open on Sundays too” she says with a radiant smile
