Success Story

In 45 villages of 3 service districts of TAPWA, many families live below poverty line. Their economic conditions are very poor. In 45 villages of 3 service districts of TAPWA, many families live below poverty line. Their economic conditions are very poor. Women were unorganized and mostly laboruers, paid lesser wages than men. Rights violations are happening against these women. The situation got wider and deeper in all directions. Ignorance of ground realities lead to futile results in government’s efforts.

TAPWA organized women into self-help groups in target villages and imparted capacity building training on legal awareness to prevent violation against them, to enlighten the importance of legal procedures & to emphasize legal rights. They were linked with banks for loan assistance to initiate income generation activities after training for sustainability of the program.

Lower caste & other poor women became aware of their rights in target area & within the community & legal provisions available for them in the society. Efforts of TAPWA facilitated these women in claiming their rights. Women are trained to involve themselves in advocacy for their legal rights and trained persons disseminating and guiding others during periodical SHG meetings.Target women SHGs are grouped as members of Cooperative Federations for collective action.
