In the words of Madhuri, a faculty member at Muktangan, “Four years ago, I was an ordinary “Choti Bahu”. I was so busy with the household chores that I had no time to think about myself or to continue to higher studies. But God had other plans for me and so he sent a fairy Elizabeth to create a world of Muktangan.”

Madhuri was selected to join Muktangan as a trainee in 2004. With frequent group discussions, brain storming sessions and consistent practical experiences in classrooms she was able to understand her hidden potentials and strengths to build her self-confidence and self-esteem.

During the last four years, Madhuri has been promoted from the role of a teacher to a supervisor and now is a faculty member. She is currently focusing on studying further and enhancing her skills in the area of child education. She has earned the respect from her community and her family members for being financially independent.
