Success Story

Aarti is 13 years old and studying in Grade 7. Aarti is 13 years old and studying in Grade 7. She wanted to go to school. Her father works as casual labour in a factory and her mother as domestic help. With their paltry income they support 3 children. Aarti has an older and a young brother. Her elder brother is working to help out the family. Aarti was studying at Government School where she was not performing well academically.

She was introduced to the Pathshala program initiated by Literacy India where she got an enormous amount of support and help in her academics. Later, Literacy India got her transferred to St. Soldier Senior Secondary School based on her performance and her grade.

Aarti is back at Kristina Makara RTI Vidyapeeth, school run by Literacy India, where she is fairing well for herself and is engaged in numerous activities like Computer, Drama & Dance. Her forte is Drama. She had played a role in 20 episodes of a TV serial "Nari" which concentrated on women and Girl child relayed on Doordarshan
