If you are a UK taxpayer, for every pound that you have donated, GIVE UK can reclaim 28 pence from the IRS helping your donation go further. To qualify for Gift Aid, the income tax or capital gains tax you pay must at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year. To Gift Aid donations, please register as a UK tax payer or modify your profile accordingly. When you make a donation, the system asks you whether you would like to GiftAid the donation or not. If you choose yes, we will reclaim GiftAid from the Inland Revenue.

13 years ago, Anupam enrolled in Prabhat 13 years ago, Anupam, then 8, enrolled in Prabhat. He had a squint and had multiple disabilities including Cerebral Palsy. He was unable to sit, eat or drink without help. He lacked self confidence and was too scared to converse or interact with his classmates or his teachers. His parents had sadly concluded that Anupam would never be able to lead a normal life; and considered him to be a worthless burden.

Anupam was administered physiotherapy. When his limbs picked up some strength he was taught the basic necessities of life with painstaking efforts over a prolonged period. He was also given some basic education in keeping with his ability to learn. Our effort was to make him as self reliant as a person with his disability can be.

Anupam’s limbs and brain have been nurtured to the extent possible. He can stand on his own with support, drives a wheelchair, sings songs and participates actively in games/fun activities. He can wear his clothes, plays, can write his own name, a few 3 to 4 letter words and numbers and simple additions and subtractions. He is a happy go lucky child who is loved by all. His life is valued now
