, Ammu was studying in class 10th hailed from a very poor family SPW India worked in a rural Government High School in Chettithangal village, Ammu was studying in class 10th and she was very good in her studies but had a strong feeling that she would not be able to go for higher education as she hailed from a very poor family and she was the eldest in her family. Her mother was uneducated and worked as a coolie. Her father had passed away.

SPW Peer Educators helped Ammu by giving her career guidance and strengthened her life skills. They helped her to weigh the options in front of her. She was also informed about technical courses and the scholarships which were available. We helped Ammu to negotiate her education with her family.

Ammu after completing 10th standard has joined NTTF and doing a Diploma in TOOL and Dye Making--. She is the only girl in her class but she is able to handle it with positive attitude. She also availed a scholarship. Amu was able to fulfill her dream and look into the future with hope for herself and her family.
