Success Story

Sivanna is 19 years old and belongs to poor family in Chikkasinghogi village in Koppal district, North Karnataka. Sivanna is 19 years old and belongs to poor family in Chikkasinghogi village in Koppal district, North Karnataka. He lives in a joint family with 5 children, parents, uncle and grand parents. Sivanna studied till Grade 9 and not able to study further due to financial problems at home. After school dropout he started going to agricultural coolie and earn Rs. 30 per day. The coolie work is available only for about 3-4 months in a year. In order to have regular work and more money he used to go along with his uncle to Maharashtra, where he used to work hard at the end of five to eight months he was not getting proper wage as the employer promised Rs.80 per day but he gave only Rs.40 after the completion of work, so he was so frustrated and discontinued, He is not able to get regular work in his village.

Through his mother Gangamma who is member of SHG formed by Sampark he came to know that Sampark is organising skill trainings for unemployed youth. He attended one of the motivational training programmes in his village organised by Sampark. Fifteen days after this, he attended one training programme on Identifying viable ideas for skill training. At the end of the training programme he identified that mobile repairing will be the viable idea based on demand as well as his interest. Through the survey also he confirmed once again that there is a lot of scope for the mobile repairing service.

At present he completed six months training on mobile servicing at Nirmala mobile service centre and got job in the same centre. He says I am thankful to Sampark and trainer who has not only trained, also provided job opportunity in his centre. He is earning Rs. 3500 per month along with Rs. 600 towards bus fare.
