Success Story

Aravind’s parents are illiterate Aravind’s parents are illiterate. His father is habitual drinker who often stole money from his wife to buy liquor. He would return drunk almost every night and pick a fight with some at home. These constant fights disturbed Aravind and he could not concentrate on his studies

When HESAT opened an evening tuition centre in their village Kameswaram, it was a blessing for all, especially Aravind. His elder sister discontinued her studies because of family disturbances but Aravind still managed to attend the classes for 2 hours in the evenings

Because of our intervention, Aravind showed fantastic improvements in his studies. He stood first in Grade VI. His scores and progress have proved that given support and opportunity, students like him can shine. We are encouraged by his progress and hope to open many more such centres
