Success Story

Jonnadula Durga aged about 18 years is a resident of Purugulapet of Epurupalem. Jonnadula Durga aged about 18 years is a resident of Purugulapet of Epurupalem. She studied up to Grade 5. After that she stopped her studies and involved in weaving work to help the parents in maintaining the family. Her father was got paralysis stroke and staying at home without going for rickshaw pulling. Since then the family maintenance was become difficult.

Rakshana forms children support groups in villages. We enrolled Jonnadula Durga in the Adolescent support group. We have facilitated the group to undergo vocational training in Tailoring and Embroidery through a Government Institute in the village itself. The course was free.Durga got trained as well and RAKSHANA supported her with sewing machine through fund mobilization.

After her training, she used to spend some time in the evening repairing old clothes, doing embroidery etc and was able to earn Rs.500 per month. Now, she is happy and even supporting her family.
