Success Story

Jeyanthi an infected widow has 3 children and the elder two are infected. Jeyanthi an infected widow has 3 children and the elder two are infected. Working as a coolie fetches a meager income and was not able to provide nutritious meals for her children and remain hygienic. She decides to neglect the infected childrens health and feed her daughter saying, "Anyway I and my 2 children will die, so I will care my daughter who lives longer more than the other two "

During support group meetings the importance of good nutrition and how healthy hygienic practices will reduce the onset of other diseases was explained. Jeyanthi started to weep and narrate her story. But poverty didnt support her. CSR supported her with a family pack containing cereals, pulses, nuts and toiletries and also regular follow up visits by the CSR staff team made her to realize

This helped Jeyanthi to provide the nutrition needed for her children and also remain hygienic. The children are now equal. Jeyanthi realized her mistake and now she is happy that the fate of her children is reversed. Her two infected children are also happy and all four of them are having meals together. Jeyanthi said, "All three are my children and I dont know how I saw them indifferently".
