Success Story

Geetha (22yrs) was a lactating mother but she was so weak and her child was under weight Geetha (22yrs) was a lactating mother but she was so weak and her child was under weight because of anemia. The child has itching and skin diseases and could not walk. She gave up breast feeding to child as she could not.

We organized a nutritious food demonstration in Munduvelampatti village wherein 800 poor people are living. Greens, vegetables and pulses were collected at local and cooked at the venue. Volunteer narrated to group how to cook and what kinds of vitamins, minerals are in the food. Cause and consequences of the low nutrition were also educated to the people.

She prepared and fed nutritious food to her child & herself. Her child’s health has improved & is able to walk and play. There has also been an improvement in her health. She has learnt new variety of food and their nutritional values through the said demo and educated her neighbors too
