She had undergone abortions three times before this pregnancy. All her previous deliveries had been done by a village Dais (traditional birth attendants) and Renu was scared this time.

After a meeting at CSI about the importance of regular checkups and for safe delivery Renu started to go to CSI?s special ANC clinic every month. During her pregnancy, she developed high blood pressure, and was asked to restrict her salt intake and take bed rest. She also got herself registered for safe delivery at a government hospital, this time following the advice at CSI?s special ANC clinic.

Having taken all the necessary precautions and heeded sound medical advice, Renu had a perfectly normal delivery this time. Her daughter is now 5 months old and Renu takes her regularly to the CSI clinic for immunisation.
