Success Story

Veeresh son of Ningappa Nayak, from Chirchanagudda village was 9 months old when he was afflicted with polio. Veeresh son of Ningappa Nayak, from Chirchanagudda village was 9 months old when he was afflicted with polio. Despite the disability in both limbs, with sheer determination, he completed his Class X. Higher education was out of question due to the poor economic condition of the family. Veeresh started spending long hours in solitude unable to muster the confidence of meeting his peers.

SAMUHA SAMARTHYA undertook his medical assessment and provided him with physiotherapy and counseling.He was also supported with a wheel chair for better functional mobility. Veeresh showed a keen interest in the occupational therapy and horticulture training programme and attended the interview for the same. Veeresh was over joyed when he learnt of his selection for the programme.

Veeresh is now learning scientific aspects of plant growth and propogation. He would like to engage himself in horticulture development activities in the future. The training has also improved his self confidence and Veeresh is now confident of economic independence.
