The village is largely scheduled tribe and scheduled caste The village Thinagar is under Bamongola Block, District Malda. The village is largely scheduled tribe and scheduled caste. Most of them live below the poverty level, so their children languished for want of opportunities. They cannot access education and illiteracy among the children is quite high.

[ERDS] has initiated construction of a two storied a Primary School Building at Thinagore, district Malda. The building will consist of classrooms, library, activity centre and a permanent stage to hold cultural programmes. The School will cater to a 1000 children hailing from disadvantaged families. It will strive to provide quality education to the children.

The parents of the marginalized children are quite happy because their wards are now getting the opportunity to go to school for their education. The situation is really very encouraging because the children are no longer languishing for want of opportunity.
