Success Story

Sunithi was 2 years old when she came to Sri Arunodayam on 03.08.2006. Sunithi was 2 years old when she came to Sri Arunodayam on 03.08.2006. She endures moderate intellectual disability and low vision. She is the fourth girl child to her parents who found it too difficult to handle a baby girl with special needs. They deposited her in the cradle baby scheme. She was unable to walk & totally dependent. Sunithi suffered frequent epileptic attacks.

At Sri Arunodayam, we placed her in the Early Intervention group. The care givers, therapists and special educators worked relentlessly to rehabilitate her. She is regularly given medicines to control and manage epileptic seizures.

Now, Sunithi walks, communicates very well with gestures and monosyllables to indicate her needs, She feeds herself and is generally independent. The frequency and intensity of the epileptic seizures is under control largely due to medication.
