37-year-old Salma came to AWAGs Short Stay Home at Bapunagar in Ahmedabad, with her two daughters and two sons. 37-year-old Salma came to AWAGs Short Stay Home at Bapunagar in Ahmedabad, with her two daughters and two sons. Her husband had thrown her out of the house, suspecting her character. He also refused to accept her children as his. Salma was highly disturbed, agitated and traumatised.

The AWAG counsellor recommended her to the clinical psychologist to deal with her trauma. Salma underwent a vocational training course in stitching offered by AWAG. Throughout her stay at the Short Stay Home, AWAG supported her with free provision of household goods and food items. When Salma started earning steadily, she moved out to a small rented house with her children.

Through her determined effort, she saved enough to get her eldest daughter married. Her elder son has started earning now, and the two younger children study in the school, leaving Salma a happy mother with a sense of fulfillment.
